Brock Lesnar On SmackDown And Randy Orton On Raw Diminishes WWE's Brand Split

Brock Lesnar appeared on this week’s SmackDown to enact his revenge after Randy Orton showed up on Raw to hype up their WWE SummerSlam dream match, but wait—is that even supposed tohappen?

he entire purpose of the WWE Draft and the resulting brand split is to have just that, two completely separate brands with distinct rosters and storylines. But only one week after the brand extension returned, WWE has already overlooked the rules of the brand split because the company forced itself into that situation when Lesnar vs. Orton was booked prior to the draft.

Now, a mere seven days after the WWE brand extension draft, Orton, a SmackDown exclusive superstar, has already made an appearance on Raw while Lesnar, a Raw wrestler, returned the favor by doing the same on SmackDown. The WWE is obviously hoping that, with both Orton and Lesnar “unexpectedly” showing up, fans will give them a pass for ignoring the rules of the brand split essentially right away.
